I'm really excited about the Multiplying Letter's, kids math book I'm making as a companion to 1% Clean. So far it seems to be going really well, and I think I learned a lot of things illustrating the first book. It seems to be going a lot faster. I hope to be able to finish and order a proof copy by the end of the week, but that's an ambitious goal. I've written the story for another book, this one about negative numbers. A kid and his sister are on a car trip. She's singing 99 Bottles of Pop (beer.) When she gets to zero, much to his astonishment and annoyance, she just keeps going.
I'm wanting to do a whole series of these. I'm planning on at least five, but it'll depend a bit on coming up with ideas I like for the additional two. I really like the ease with which, the words at least, seem to come together for these. I love kids books, and it seems to be a style of writing that comes a bit more naturally to me than longer forms.
